Bamba Experience: The Biography of Paul Sarfati
I have had many experiences in my life but some of the best ones have happened in just the last couple of years. I’m writing today about the life of an individual named Paul Sarfati and one of his businesses called Bamba Experience. Paul Sarfati studied and earned a degree in Entrepreneurship and Marketing and advertising at Babson College in Boston from 2001-2005. In the course of his college expertise he had the chance to produce a enterprise program during his freshman year and continue to develop a enterprise plan by way of an (Operations Plan, MonetaryProgram, MarketingStrategy) in a lot of various courses. Throughout this procedure he got lots of help from his very best buddies Felipe Pimentel, Juan Brando & Nicolas Steiner. His last year in college he developed a final organization program, participated in a organization class contest and was awarded 1st Place. Thus, after graduating, Paul decided to go back to Mexico and start his own enterprise.
Founded in 2005, by Paul Sarfati and Arturo Martinez, with a vision to provide an unforgettable learning and travel experience in Mexico for all types of travelers, they decided to start BambaExperience.com. As a world traveler himself, Paul’s focus has always been on enjoying every single moment in life, traveling and meeting new people and going to amazing off-the-beaten-path destinations, all while directly interacting with local villagers and appreciating the natural environment in the course of the process.
Bamba Experience started operating a hop-on hop-off bus service similar to the one offered by companies such as Oz Experience in Australia, Kiwi Expertise in New Zealand, Fez Travel in Turkey, Baz Bus in South Africa, and Busabout in Europe in Mexico. After trial and error, Bamba Experience realized that travelers where very interested on not only being with other backpackers and meeting them, but also they wanted to have the chance to travel in Public Buses, and have many more interactions with the local people.
For this reason, Bamba Experience decided to generate a new travel method called Hop-on Hop-off Bus Pass, meaning that you still have the same flexibility to stay as long as you want in each destination, and develop your own itinerary, but at the same time you will travel not only in shuttle vans with other backpackers but with a mix of public transportation such as Public Buses, Boats, Trains and sometimes flights. The idea behind this is to make sure travelers have the opportunity to travel exactly the same way as if they where traveling on their own, but much easier and with the security that they would be making the most out of their travel encounter. Today, BambaExperience.com has grown in size from Paul and Arturo’s original vision to include buses experiences, guides and support staff in Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Chile with offices all over the world.
Bamba Experience is the one stop solution for independent travelers in Latin America as far as I am concerned. That’s my opinion. I have successfully traveled all over Latin America by using their services over the last couple of years. I have seen first hand and close up how they help the people in those remote villages. Paul gives, gives, and gives some more. Bamba Experience’s purpose (the way that I see it) is to make independent travel very easy. They help travelers make the most out of their travel experience and give them the chance to make their own schedules, choose the route they want to do and let them stay for as long as they want in each destination. Bamba Experience’s objective is to remove language barriers and the bureaucracy of developing countries by acting as an office where travelers can easily contact them, speak English, make bus bookings, changes to their bus trips, get information on bus schedules, departure points, book day and multi-day trips easily and get information about each destination. Bamba Experience is like a living guidebook, and they respond to the real time necessities of the clients. I know because I am a client and have been for a couple of years now. I have seen first hand how Paul Sarfati and his team helps the many peoples of Central and South America. Just like any company … their service is not always 100% excellent … though I have to say that after the last couple of years and over 23 trips later it has been, on average, GOOD! I would definitely recommend them to anyone and everyone. They experienced a few little bumps in the past but those challenges have been addressed and they have since launched new technologies and advancements in travel fun.
In 2010 Swiss Laurent Steiner, a passionate traveler and entrepreneur, joined the Bamba Group team in order to grow the company by implementing new marketing and advertising and technological advances into the development of co-branded websites such as www.BambaAdventures.com and www.BambaWorld.com. The Bamba Group has become very successful via it’s years of operation with thousands of happy travelers. I sincerely hope that I will be able to watch them continue to grow with new projects and implement the same organizational model in several different countries across the globe. Especially after we got robbed in Managua, we were so thankful to have such a great agency to help us get where we were going safely and suggest places to stay, etc. I can’t say enough great things about it. The only thing that happened that you might want to know is that when we left from Belize City to go to the Chetumal bus station, the Chetumal bus left us behind at the border and only took the locals, so we had to find a taxi. Not a huge deal, but just something youy may want to be aware of. The rest of the trip was amazing, and it was so great that you guys were so flexible and responded so quickly. “First, our experience with bamba was very good and we are willing to travel under the guidance of bamba again in our Costa Rica – Bolivia trip next year and also recommend the Bamba Experience to friends. Second, you should have a “”Very Good”" category among your answer choices, as our “”Good”" ratings were really “”Very Good”", just not what we consider excellent. We would have liked to have received recommendations for hostels and activities (optional) at least 2 days before moving to a new place. What would be even better is to forward all activities to a new applicant for all stops in our route. The Book Hostels link is unreliable as we had problems with the “”confirmed”" reservations. Twice they were not honored, or the hostel was not aware of the reservation by Book Hostel.”

“I still have around 6 weeks left using the Bamba pass before I leave Central America. So far, I have been extremely pleased with the Bamba system, the help that I have received and its efficiency. There has been a few bus terminals in Mexico where there has been a slight reluctancy to print off the ticket. However this has certainly not been a major problem.
